BEFORE THE DAY

- A no-obligation call before you book, so we can check we are a good fit for each other.

- A couples questionnaire - to get to know you a little better before we meet.

- An online or in person planning meeting.

- Advice or suggestions for readings / poems if needed.

- Support with writing vows, if that's something you have chosen to do.

- Writing a totally unique script for your ceremony, and working with you to make any edits or tweaks needed until you are completely happy with it.

- Final summary, tips and checklists in the week leading up to your ceremony.

ON THE DAY

- Exclusive use! I only ever book one wedding a day, so that I can give it my full attention and can be flexible with timings.

- Travel to and from your venue (If under 50 miles).

- Helping out for an hour before and after the ceremony (arranging the ceremony space, shepherding guests, or dealing with anything else that crops up!)

- Conducting a heartfelt and completely unique ceremony which has you and your guests loving every single second.

- Including any alternative wedding rituals or symbolic actions that take your fancy.

- A certificate designed to fit your colour scheme to sign as part of the ceremony (if you would like that as a photo opportunity – not everyone does!)

- Vow booklets designed to fit the same colour scheme as your certificate.

AFTER THE BIG DAY

- Presentation copies of your ceremony script (printed and digital) as keepsakes

- A friend for life (if you want me!)

Absolutely! I love it when couples write their own vows – it’s such a personal and powerful moment. If you’d like to, I will be on hand to help you if you need some guidance. Once you’ve written them, just email them over to me so I can do a little read through (and check that they balance nicely). And don’t worry – I’ll also print them for you on the day.

Yes! I am based in Bedfordshire, but happy to travel further afield. If there are any extra travel costs, we’ll chat about that upfront. I am also open to destination weddings and travelling abroad. Just let me know the details!

Registrars handle the legal bits and have to follow an official script. A celebrant, on the other hand, gets to make it completely personal, wonderfully flexible, and absolutely bursting with your story. A lot of couples do a quick legal signing at the register office, and then save the real magic (rings exchange, vows, announcing in front of friends and family) for their celebrant-led day.

Absolutely! – I love this. Maybe you’re not religious enough for a fully religious wedding, but you want to weave in those little nods to your heritage. From Hymns, to breaking the glass (*Mazel Tov!*), to a Celtic handfasting – I welcome it all! If it’s something I haven’t seen before, I’d be excited to learn. If it matters to you, let’s talk about how we can make it part of your ceremony!

Generally most are around 30–45 minutes. Long enough to tell your story, laugh, cry and celebrate – but not so long that your guests get restless and thirsty! The length of the ceremony will always vary depending on additional elements, such as readings, symbolic actions and music choices.

Not quite. Right now, celebrants in England can’t conduct the legal bit. Most couples “do the paperwork” at the registry office a few days before or after. It’s quick, simple, and can cost as little as £35 - £70. Then, you save your big promises, your story, your ring exchange, your vows, your celebration for your celebrant-led ceremony.

Yes, yes, yes! Whether it’s your dog trotting down the aisle as the ring bearer, a child doing an adorable reading, or your nan being part of the action – I love weaving in the people and pets! that matter most to you. When I get to know you, I also get to know everyone around you and everyone important to you and we’ll chat about all the ways we can include them.

A symbolic action is a meaningful ritual woven into the ceremony to reflect a couple’s relationship, values, culture, family connections, or hopes for the future. Unlike legal wording, symbolic actions are completely personal and can be tailored to suit a couple’s story and style.

Some popular symbolic actions include:

  • Handfasting – ribbons or cords are tied around the couple’s hands to symbolise unity and commitment. Family members, friends or children can easily get involved in this one!
  • Unity candle ceremony – two individual candles are used to light one larger candle together.
  • Sand blending ceremony – coloured sands are poured together into one vessel to represent two lives becoming one.
  • Ring warming – wedding rings are passed among guests so they can silently offer blessings or well wishes before the vows.
  • Wine or whisky ceremony – the couple share a drink together or seal a bottle with letters to open in the future.
  • Tree planting – planting seeds or a small tree together to symbolise growth and strength.
  • Memory or tribute rituals – lighting candles, reading poems or placing flowers in honour of loved ones who have passed away.
  • Jumping the broom -  The couple jump over a broom together to symbolise sweeping away the old and beginning a new life as one. It represents unity, commitment, and the start of a shared home and future.
